Central Vermont Local Gift Guide & Supporting Small Businesses during the Holidays

How many of you have someone on your list that "has everything"? We've compiled a list of gift ideas that almost anyone will enjoy, and what's even better is they all support small local businesses in our community!

  1. Fairmont Market Farm to Table Bag- Our December Bag has been so popular it is actually sold out but we are creating custom bag options for you to keep this option going through the holidays! Contact us to create your custom bag today. These bags are filled with meat and dairy and family recipes to make with the products, kind of like a local meal kit!

  2. Morse Farm or Bragg Farm Gift Basket - Our friends and neighbors at both Morse and Bragg Farm have a huge selection of Vermont made gifts and gift baskets, they can even help you box it up and ship it!

  3. Stop in to Botanica Florals in Montpelier to get a custom arrangement, this team of sisters is so much fun to work with!

  4. Give a local gift certificate, we are partial to Three Penny Taproom, Morse Block Deli and Pearl Street Pizza, you can find our products on their menus! Step it up, giving this gift to parents of young kids? Offer to babysit the kids too, this can be such a meaningful gift!

  5. Darn Tough Socks - these are seriously the only socks I wear all winter long. They are comfortable, warm, fun designs, and they are GUARANTEED to last!

  6. Know someone that loves coffee? Order from our friends at 802 Coffee, they have something for everyone! Take it a step further and create a gift bag with a tumbler or mug from Vermont Maker's Market, and some beautiful handmade wooden coasters from Segit and Sons Woodworking (this is a sweet and creative husband-wife duo, so the bonus is one stop shopping) !

  7. Shopping for someone artsy? Check out The Artisans Hand in Montpelier, this is such a special store that is filled with crafts made by Vermonters. You are sure to find beautiful pottery, jewelry, artwork, and for this time of year one of my favorites are the porcelain ornaments!

  8. Grab a copy of John's (one of our original farm owners) newest book, Harmony Hill, right here at the Market. This is a fictional story set in the 1940s about a young boy and his drive to keep his family farm going. You can pair it with a throw blanket from Vermont Flannel Company for a unique and cozy Vermont gift!

  9. Check out the brand new company, Bergamot + Amor, for some beautiful handbags that will last! They also have wallets and clutches if you are looking for something smaller. Every time I travel with my Bergot and Amor bag, I get at least one compliment!

  10. Give an experience gift, grab some yaktraks or gaiters from Onion River Outdoors, and make a date to go enjoy the many trails in East Montpelier! You will be able to hike through a lot of land that we farm!

Let us know if we helped you come up with the perfect gift this holiday season! Maybe this will inspire some new ideas. We are lucky to live in a community with so much to offer, it's great to support local when we can. Happy Holidays
