"Life on the Farm" Camp
Camp dates and contact
Please join us this summer to experience “Life on the Farm”.
We are looking forward to hosting three weeks of camp in 2018.
Camp dates will be:
- June 25th - June 29th - Cheese Making!
- July 9th - July 13th - Week 2
- July 23rd - July 27th - Week 3
We love sharing the fun adventures of growing up on a farm with your child, and as a bonus they will learn where the dairy products they love come from. This is a unique and unforgettable camp that we are very excited to offer!
If you have any questions about camp, please contact Clara at our office 802-223-3868 or by email firstname.lastname@example.org
What can you expect at camp?
Your child will participate in daily farm chores. We will play educational games such as dairy jeopardy. There will be various outdoor games, hikes and crafts throughout the week. Each child will be paired up with a calf for which they will learn to lead, brush, wash and prep for the show ring.
We have a themed cheese making week this year! For this camp we have a mobile cheese plant coming in that will use our cows milk to create cheese curds. Our campers will be able to see this process through starting with cows milk and ending with packaging (and snacking on!) the cheese curds they made.
For weeks two and three, which will not be doing cheese making, we do have field trips planned which we are excited to share with the campers!
On Friday afternoon we invite parents to come watch a demonstration put on by your kids with their calves.
What should you bring?
Our Dairy Day Camp is an outdoor camp. While we do have indoor space for lunch and crafts, unless it is exceptionally rainy, we will be outside in the weather. Kids should come prepared with the appropriate clothing for the weather and ready to get dirty. It is advised that kids have a sweatshirt, rain jacket, rubber boots, sunscreen and sneakers. Campers should bring a snack, lunch and a water bottle. It is also a good idea to pack a bathing suit and towel, if the weather is right we may play some water games.
Camp is available for kids that are six to twelve years old.
