$1600 was raised from donations on the website and at the farm. Fairmont LLC matched the community's donations for a total of $3200. The generosity of the community was overwhelming. This allowed us to give 10 families $100 worth of Fairmont products including pork and beef cuts plus a $50 Price Chopper gift card. We will do this again around Easter and hope to add fresh vegetables from a local farm.
The live nativity scene was surrounded by hay bales in the shed. The animals included a cow and a baby calf, 3 chickens, a pony, 2 sheep and twin lambs. The families were able to pat and enjoy the animals. Everyone young and old were excited to have this opportunity. Fairmont families, friends and employees provided the cast, including Baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph and Shepards tending the animals.
We were fortunate to have the choir from Bethany Church caroling on this special occasion. It was an opportunity to join in and sing Christmas carols.
A large John Deere tractor was lite up and was the backdrop for many family photos.
Santa made a stop at Fairmont to see what was on everyone's list. The families enjoyed cookies and hot chocolate while waiting in line.
We want to thank Fairmont's Udderly Crazy 4H families for all their help in making this a success.
We are already planning for our 2022 Christmas on the Farm, we would love to be able to offer it over 2 nights, to raise additional money to help even more Central Vermont families.
